For the best compass reading
Hold your phone flat with the screen facing up. Move it slowly in a figure-8 motion to calibrate it, and keep away from metal, cars and magnetic cases. The arrow points toward Qibla; the top edge of your phone is the direction you are facing.
Phone compass readings are approximate and may use magnetic north. If the live compass is unavailable, use the Qibla bearing above in a compass set to True North. On iPhone, enable Use True North in Settings → Compass. Confirm the direction with a known mosque if you are unsure.
